October 12, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Artist: Black Cobain
Track: Going Back to Cali
Directed By: BOA Films

This track is fire. I’m sure I don’t need to introduce the original sample of this song, shout out the Notorious BIG! In case you forgot, it starts with a little reminder, from the strip where Big was shot down. #COBIZZY stands on the corner and takes it from there. This black and white video, featuring throw back clips, is pieced together perfectly and really matches the original vibe of the song. Check it out and don’t forget to share!

MMG: Rick Ross ft. Wale & Drake – “Diced Pineapples” Music Video

October 12, 2012 in Blog, Featured, Music, Videos

Artist: Rick Ross ft. Wale & Drake
Track: Diced Pineapples
Produced By: Cardiak & T-Minus
Album: God Forgives, I Dont
Directed By: Director X

Wale definitely kills this from the get go! I can’t think of any other rapper that is as talented with their poetic skills as he is. With that said, MMG’s choice of Anguilla for the video shoot location, couldn’t have been any better. The song begins with a beautiful piano playing as shots of island landscapes and scenery are shown. The big white grandiose house is introduced, and sitting poolside in the back, is none other than the boss himself. As the song continues, we move on to a yacht serving Ciroc in a glass filled with diced pineapples. Oh yea, Drake was there too. Gotta check this out for yourself!!

October 11, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Artist: Meek Mill ft. Big Sean
Track: Burn
Directed By: DRE Films

I’ve said this before, I LOVE seeing artists who spend more time and effort on music videos. Music videos have taken a dramatic turn in recent years due to the internet. There are many aspiring directors out there making videos on low budgets and everyday equipment. But as always, quality stands out. When you get two of the hottest record labels together for the video of a hit single, I expect to see some greatness. Meek Mill from MMG and Big Sean from GOOD Music do not disappoint. Teaming up with well known MMG director DRE Films, the duo put together a video filled with flaming cars (literally), alligators (yeah), super fine girls, and did I say fire?? #BURN! Check it out.

YSC : “Killa Swag” Music Video

October 4, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Artist: YSC (StunnaB & Chase)
Track: Killa Swag
Produced By: 2Tall
Directed By: Vantage Vision

DMV’s rap duo YSC is back at it with “Killa Swag.” This hardcore street track full of synths, deep basses, snares, and cash talk, is just a sample off their upcoming “Stunna Seasons” mixtape. StunnaB picks up the first verse ballin’ like his “name was Steve Nash.” Rapping about car’s with 22 inch rims, Stunna explains how he “loves to floss.” Brother Chase is no different as he talks of S classes, Gucci, Versace and more. The video which showcases a lot of cash, cars, and jewels among many other things, is a perfect example of how they stay true to their words. Check it out.

DMV: Black Cobain Drops “OMD” Music Video

September 28, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Artist: Black Cobain
Track: OMD
Mixtape: Cheers
Directed By: 1st Impressions Studio

As Black Cobain continues to grow as an aspiring artist in this fast paced industry, his single “OMD” explains how he intends to do it. The dark – grungy beat, produced by Hello Chi-City, creates an eerie atmosphere for haters as Cobain performs his lyrical assassinations. As impressive as the single is by itself, this video takes it to another level. 1st Impression Studios shot the video in a setting that was very appropriate to the beat and the tone of the song. The chopped editing style, and the dim light setup exposing the emptiness around the room, really helped visually explain how Black Cobain and his crew (ft. Legreg Harrison) plan to take over the game with no one’s help.

VIDEO: Check Out Lupe’s “Food & Liquor II”

September 27, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Lupe Fiasco is back at it yet again, obviously doing something certified #OhsoGOLD. His latest addition to his lineup of albums is “Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. I” This is definitely one of those rare albums from one of the few artists who love to push their art to the limits. Lupe is an artist who is devoted to his music and fans, but has unfortunately struggled these past few years to show them exactly what he is capable of. This album, which is printed all black with no text (including inside the pages of the CD insert), is Lupe’s 4th attempt at communicating with the world using his music and visions. Check out the official music videos from the album and click the lick below to purchase.

One on One: Wale talks about his come up [VIDEO]

September 20, 2012 in Blog, Videos

Wale is definitely on my list of #OhsoGOLD artists! As a person – a smart, creative and humble being. As an artist – a talented lyrical genius. One of the greatest things for me about Wale is the fact that he has grown as a person and an artist throughout the years. Each new step that he take leads him closer to a level of greatness. In a non-arrogant and selfish manner, Wale is finally approaching the limelight and basking in the fame. This is where many artists loose touch with reality and begin to drift down the wrong path. Wale however, seems to approach this stage of his life one step ahead of everyone else, giving him the advantage of a little control over his future. As he explains in these videos, Wale has only one word in mind – WIN! With a dedicated mind and a hard working team, he won’t stop until he gets there.

Malik Ferraud – “Around The World” Music Video

September 18, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Track: Around The World
Artist: Malik Ferraud
Directed By: Joe Austin Films

Add this to the list of “Oh So #GOLD” videos! The video, which shot in many different locations including DC, is one of the best i’ve seen from an aspiring artist in a long time! The slow motion footage with the added stabilized effect draws the audience in with the flow of the song. And of course Malik Ferraud kills it yet again. Here’s the link to download his latest mixtape “#DAMN“.

Game – “Celebration” Music Video

September 18, 2012 in Blog, Music, Videos

Track: Celebration
Artist: Game ft. Chris Brown, Tyga, Wiz Khalifa & Lil Wayne
Directed By: Matt Alonzo

Rapper “Game”, teams up with director Matt Alonzo to create this dope music video for the track titled “Celebration.” The video has a nice old school west coast feel to it complemented by Game cruisin’ around in a classic Impala. Alonzo’s smooth panning shots along with the setting choices really makes the song an experience to watch. Almost as if you were at a party with these great artists. Check it out!
